What Pipedrive does well
Pipedrive is clean, fast, and genuinely good at one thing: a sales pipeline that reps actually use. It is affordable and it does not get in the way. For a firm that just needs its pipeline out of a spreadsheet, that is a fair start.
Where it stops for a partner services firm
Pipedrive is a pipeline tool, and only a pipeline tool. Once a deal is won, Pipedrive’s job is done. A partner services firm’s job is just beginning.
- No delivery. No projects, no tasks, no subcontracted work. The handoff from sales to delivery has nowhere to land.
- No commission logic. Beyond a basic deal-value field, there is no concept of an earned commission, a vendor’s rate schedule, or license revenue versus services revenue.
- No renewal model. A multi-year license commission stream is not something a lightweight sales CRM was built to hold.
